Trip Planning & AI Itinerary

Build a day-by-day AI itinerary with real places, verified travel times, and a cost on every activity, then edit it as plans change.

  1. 1

    Start a travel book

Create a trip with a destination and dates. For multi-city travel, add each stop as a separate leg with its own dates and location, and the planner treats each leg as its own chapter of one continuous trip.

  2. 2

    Answer the planning questions

Tell Buddy where you're travelling from and how you're getting there (flying, driving, train, cycling, motorbike, or mixed), what the trip is for (leisure, honeymoon, family, business, adventure, wellness, or solo), your pace (relaxed at 2-3 things a day, balanced at 3-5, or packed at 5-6 with early starts), and your style (budget, mid-range, or luxury). Everything except the destination is optional.

  3. 3

Add interests, dietary needs, and constraints

Pick from interests like food, history, hiking, nightlife, photography, and beaches. Set dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, or pescatarian) as a hard filter on food suggestions, and describe any mobility or accessibility constraints in your own words.

  4. 4

    Choose Quick or Deep

Quick returns a single-pass plan in moments and is free on every account. Deep researches current information, verifies each place against Google Maps, and checks real driving or transit times between stops before it writes anything. Deep is part of Buddy Pro; free accounts always get Quick.

  5. 5

Watch it work, then read the plan

Deep planning streams its real progress rather than a fake loading bar: researching, verifying places, checking travel times, drafting, then finalising. You get a day-by-day itinerary, each day with a summary and timed activities tagged as food, transport, activity, stay, or sightseeing, and each activity carrying an estimated cost.

  6. 6

    See it on the map

Because Deep planning saves coordinates for every verified place, the finished itinerary also renders as a map, so you can see how a day is laid out geographically before you commit to it.

  7. 7

    Work through the prerequisites

Alongside the days, Buddy builds a pre-trip checklist grouped into documents, health, packing, money, and transport, with the critical items flagged. Tick items off, add notes, and add your own.

  8. 8

Edit anything, regenerate when plans change

Change a time, rewrite or delete an activity, add your own, or drop a whole day. The itinerary is marked as edited so you can tell your version from the original draft. If you regenerate, every answer you gave last time is prefilled, so you're not re-entering your dietary needs to move one afternoon.

  9. 9

    Explore nearby places

Use Explore to find restaurants, attractions, and activities near you, filtered by your remaining budget so suggestions actually fit what you have left to spend.

  10. 10

Track the trip against the plan

The itinerary lives in the same travel book as your expenses, budget, and split bills. Log expenses as you go and your budget and trip summary stay in sync, so the plan and what actually happened end up in one place.

Tip

AI itinerary generation and Explore both weigh your live remaining budget, so recommendations get more conservative as a trip's spend adds up. After a few trips Buddy also learns your usual pace, style, transport, and dietary answers and offers them as defaults.

Common questions

What is the difference between Quick and Deep planning?

Quick is a single pass and returns a plan in moments. Deep researches current information, verifies every place against Google Maps, and checks real driving or transit times between stops before it writes a single day. Deep takes longer because it is actually checking things.

Is AI trip planning free?

Quick planning is free on every account. Deep planning is part of Buddy Pro; if a free account asks for Deep, the server runs Quick instead rather than failing.

Can I change the itinerary after it is generated?

Yes, all of it. Change a time, rewrite or delete an activity, add your own, or drop an entire day. The itinerary is marked as edited so you can always tell your version from the original draft.

Does it handle multi-city trips?

Yes. Add each stop as its own leg with its own dates and location, and the planner treats each leg as a chapter of one continuous trip rather than as separate trips stitched together.

Does the plan know my budget?

It does. Every activity carries an estimated cost, and both itinerary generation and Explore weigh your remaining budget, so suggestions get more conservative as a trip's spend adds up.
