How can we help?
Getting started
Create your first trip
A travel book is a trip: give it a name, destination, and date range. Multi-stop trips can include several legs, each with its own dates and location.
Getting StartedPlan on the web, then use the app
Pick a destination and a length, fill the days with real places and a rough number on anything that costs money, and watch the total. There is no sign-up. A plan is a guess until you are there, so the app logs what you actually spend, in local currency, offline.
Plan a tripDo I need an account to start?
No. You can continue as a guest, log expenses straight away, and create an account later without losing anything you have already entered.
Getting StartedGroups & splitting
Invite friends to a trip
Invite the people you're traveling with to a shared trip, or just add their names to split expenses without requiring them to have an account.
Splitting BillsCan I split a bill unevenly?
Yes. Split evenly, by percentage, or by exact amounts per person, whichever matches how the cost was actually divided.
Splitting BillsSettle up with your group
Once, at the end. That is the point of the running balance: nobody is transferring small amounts after every meal, and the end-of-trip maths is already done.
Splitting BillsSubscriptions
Pro vs Trip Pass
Buddy Pro is a monthly or annual subscription that covers every trip, on iOS and Android. Trip Pass is a one-time purchase: Pro planning, receipt tools, offline maps, and clean story export for one trip. Purchase happens in the app.
PricingCancel your subscription
Cancel at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Premium features until then.
Cancellation & refundsIs DollarBuddy free to use?
Yes. Free includes unlimited trips and expenses, split and settle, offline logging, Trip Fund, one Buddy plan each month, and ten receipt scans each month. Buddy Pro adds unlimited planning, receipt itemization, and offline maps.
PricingPlanning
Edit a day in your plan
Yes, all of it. Change a time, rewrite or delete an activity, add your own, or drop an entire day. The itinerary is marked as edited so you can always tell your version from the original draft.
Trip PlanningWhat is the difference between Quick and Deep planning?
Quick is a single pass and returns a plan in moments. Deep researches current information, verifies every place against Google Maps, and checks real driving or transit times between stops before it writes a single day. Deep takes longer because it is actually checking things.
Trip PlanningDoes it handle multi-city trips?
Yes. Add each stop as its own leg with its own dates and location, and the planner treats each leg as a chapter of one continuous trip rather than as separate trips stitched together.
Trip PlanningImport & export
Export a trip as PDF/CSV
A completed trip generates a shareable expense report, useful for reimbursements, shared trip accounting, or your own records. PDF and CSV exports are part of Buddy Pro.
Budgets & InsightsDownload all your data
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, in a machine-readable format, by emailing info@dollarbuddy.io. We respond within 30 days.
Your rightsAccount & privacy
Delete your account
Email info@dollarbuddy.io to close your account at any time. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Data retentionCan I log an expense with no internet?
Yes. Expenses are written locally first and sync when you are back online, which is the point: you log the tuk-tuk when you pay for it, not when you next find wifi. Offline mode is a Premium feature.
Logging an ExpenseStill stuck?
A real person replies, usually within one business day. Pro members get priority.
